Pam joined Astara’s staff in 1987 – answering a classified ad for a typical job as a correspondence clerk. “I was clueless,” she said, “as to where it would take me.”
“Being part of Astara’s staff, working with the Chaneys and getting to know Members has helped open a greater engagement with life and a keener, more generous sense of self and ways we all have always been a living part of something so much larger. It has deepened my prayers, helped mold new visions and shape my thinking and doing. It has helped me form the old woman I will become and the next life I will need on this ever richer journey of becoming once more, what I always have been. I’m one of the lucky ones earning a living through an organization which literally transforms lives; something my soul can support, and vice-versa.”
Pam has three daughters and one son – all adults – and 8 grandchildren.
