Membership
What is the cost to become a member?
Lifetime membership in Astara is available for a one time registration fee of $35.00. This includes the first three lessons of Astara’s Book of Life Degree Lessons. There are also two other membership options which allow you to purchase the full First Degree of lessons or all Eight Degrees (176 lessons) at a substantial discount.
What does membership include?
Membership in Astara allows you to study Astara’s Book of Life Degree Lessons. You will also start receiving a newsletter each month, The Voice of Astara, which contains inspiring articles, new book features, prayer petitions and much more.
Does Astara share information with outside companies or organizations?
No. All membership information is kept strictly confidential and is not released to outside companies or organizations. Members may request that their contact information be given to other Astara members for the purpose of forming or joining an Astara study group.
Lessons
Once I become a member, how do I order additional lessons?
You can order lessons online, by phone or regular mail. Please call Astara’s center if you would like an order form sent to you.
How can I have Lessons sent to me every month?
Astara offers and automatic monthly lesson program. This allows you to have your lesson tuition charged to your credit card, or deducted from your checking or savings account each month. Please contact us if you are interested in this program.
How many lessons are there?
There are a total of 176 lessons, divided among Eight Degrees. Each degree contains eleven books, each book contains two lessons (with the exception of the first book, which contains three lessons).
How much do the lessons cost?
One set of lessons (1 book) is $9.00, plus shipping and handling. If you order more than one book at a time, they are $7.00 each, plus shipping and handling.
How many lessons can I order at a time?
You can order as many or as few lessons as you would like. Since we save on handling and processing costs, we offer you discounts when you order more than one book at a time (see above).
How will Astara know which lesson I need next?
Your record is updated each time you place an order, so we will always know which lessons you last received and which one you will need next..
Does Astara offer Lessons or books in other languages?
We currently do not have lessons or books translated into other languages.
Events & Tours
I do not live near California, How can I make it to an Astara Event?
Astara holds several events a year. Some of these events are held outside of California in order to reach members abroad. These events are announced in the newsletter in advance. We also conduct spiritual tours once a year to various locations both inside and outside of the U.S. Brochures are mailed out to members several months in advance to announce the upcoming tour each year.
Astara Study Groups
How can I find out if there are other members in my area that are interested in forming a Study Group?
Astara keeps a list of members who have given us their permission to release their contact information to allow other members to get in touch with them to form a study group. You can request a copy of the Study Group list and additional information by calling, emailing or writing to us. Your contact information will not be released without your permission.
What is the Ambassador Program?
Each time you act as an ambassador of Astara and refer someone and your name is in the “referred by” section of the membership application, we will send you your next set of lessons free as our way of thanking you for bringing the light of Astara to other seekers. You can also request several Ambassador kits to hand out to friends and family members who may be interested in Astara in order to form your own study group if there are no other members in your area. You can call, write and email us to request Ambassador kits. An Ambassador kit contains basic information on Astara, a membership application and a return envelope.
Donations & Support
Are donations to Astara tax deductible?
Yes. Astara is a non-profit organization. You can request a donation report at the end of each year.
What is the Astara Angel Program?
This program allows you to have a monthly donation charged to your credit card, or automatically transferred from your checking or savings account. You can also participate in this program by making a commitment to mail a donation in a specified amount each month. You can become an Astara Angel by filling in the amount you wish to give each month and indicating the form of payment, on the donation form included in each issue of the newsletter. Or, you can indicate that you wish to make an automatic monthly contribution when donating on-line.
Does Astara have a planned giving program?
Yes. You can help ensure to the future of Astara, by naming Astara as a beneficiary in your will or life insurance policy. Another way to pledge your support is by establishing a charitable trust with Astara. Check out the Astara Living Legacy Program information on Astara’s website.
